College Trivia:  Cosmetics and Fragrances Marketing major at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York..
 
CAL ARTS will be visiting our Career Center on November 6th. Located in Valencia, 30 minutes north of downtown LA. Nation’s first art institute to offer BFAs and MFAs in both the visual and performing arts. Majors include Art, Dance, Film/Video, Music, and Theatre. Interested students stop by counseling office to sign up and get pass. (Polun)
 
CSU On-Line Application Instructions can be viewed on the Counselor Page of South High’s web site for seniors who need extra assistance with Cal State Apps. (Counseling)
 
Career Center, room K-3, is now open on Thursdays during lunch. All grade levels are welcome to stop in to browse college catalogues and view books. Internet access is available to learn how to research colleges and analyze occupational demand/outlook. Other topics include military, career assessment, and vocational education. (Counseling)
 
*WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS: We will NOT be meeting for class on Monday, November 9th. Please be sure to stop by K1 to sign in, turn in a time sheet and pick up a new time sheet by 5th period! (Hildreth)
 
*Senior Class Picture: The ENTIRE Senior Class will have their picture taken in the stadium on Tuesday, November 10th during 4th period. Just after SSR, an announcement will be made through the phone system to dismiss all seniors to the stadium for their class picture. Seniors should take all of their stuff with them as they will not be returning to class. After the picture has been taken, seniors will be dismissed to lunch.   Seniors may not have sayings for the picture other than things related to school (i.e. Class of 2010, Go Pac Men, Seniors, etc…) . Other sayings that are unfamiliar or personal will not be permitted.  (Hildreth)
 
*Attention Classes: Canned Food Drive is next week. Start bringing in cans on Mon. Nov. 9th and earn class points for your class. Be sure to have each can marked with your grade. Drop off is before school and after 3 pm. IN k-2. This is a great way to show character and help people in need. (Hildreth)
 
*Tomorrow is the last day of Spirit Week! Show your Spartan pride and wear green and white! Come to the stage at lunch to get counted for class comp points and for funny games. (Hildreth)
 
THE STUDENT BODY HAS SPOKEN! Congratulations to the Top 10 Homecoming Court Finalists: Top 5 Girls are Natalie Bullock, Jessica Chen, Maritza Mossberg, Elizabeth Miura and Daryn Wood. Top 5 Guys are Charlie Gage, Austin Henry, Ryan Musick, Michael O’Brien, and Michael Suey. Congratulations to all of them! Find out which of these finalists will be crowned King and Queen at Friday night’s Homecoming Game vs. North High during Halftime on November 6th. (Hildreth)

South High School Theatre Arts Department presents Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians November 12th and 13th and the 18th through the 20th at 7:00 PM in the Black Box.  Tickets will go on sale soon and will be $7.00 with ASB and 9.00 general admission.  This is one of Christie's most popular murder mysteries so be sure to set the dates aside to see this wonderful show! Girls Volleyball (all levels) at Firebaugh HS.  Varsity at 3:15, JV/FS at 4:30. (Bus time 1:30)
JV and F Football at North.  Frosh at 3pm, JV at 5pm.  (Frosh bus time – 1:45pm, JV bus time – 3:30pm)
            Lower Level Cheer at North.  Bus time 1:45pm
 
Friday, November 6
Varsity Football HOME against North HS.  Game time 7:00pm.  Homecoming and Senior Night.

Boys Soccer TryoutsVarsity – Monday, Nov. 2: JV Tues/Wed. Nov. 3 and Nov. 4: F/S – Thurs/Fri., Nov. 5 & 6. Tryouts will be held at 3pm on the grass soccer field.
