*TRUANCIES & DEBTS AND PROM:   Students wishing to purchase Prom tickets must be debt free and have no more than 3 day or period truancies during the 4th quarter in order to buy a ticket for Prom. The Activities Office will have a truancy list on Monday, May 20th and the debt list is posted outside all major offices and is updated daily.

 

*SPARTAN LAURELS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS PROGRAM will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30pm in the main gym. This program will last approximately 1 ½ hours and will recognize South High student achievements in departmental categories and honor those seniors receiving awards and scholarships. We encourage all students who are certificate winners and/or scholarship recipients to attend this very impressive evening with their loved ones. Refreshments will be served and our very own Jazz Band will provide the entertainment. We look forward to sharing in all the many successes of our South High students!

 

Lei orders are being taken now for graduation.  Order forms are available in K-1.

 

THE DEBT LIST is now posted outside of F-1, K-1 and the Library and is updated everyday.

 

PROM TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE BEGINNING MAY 21ST! On Tuesday, May 21st, SENIORS and their guests ONLY may purchase prom tickets for $160 w/ASB and $170 w/o ASB per couple in K1 before 1st period, during lunch or after 6th period. Beginning Wednesday, May 22nd, JUNIORS and SENIORS & their guests may purchase prom tickets at the same price point. Please Note: ICON Lounge, this year’s Prom Site, has a MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 600 GUESTS!  (Hildreth)

 

GRADUATION TICKETS NOW ON SALE IN K1! Seniors wishing to purchase extra graduation tickets may purchase them beginning Monday, April 29th in K1 before 1st period, during lunch or after 6th period. Seniors are only allowed to purchase up to four extra tickets each week for $5 each, CASH ONLY, and must present a current South High ID in order to make the purchase.

 

Library - CLOSED: May 6 -17th for AP Testing, May 20-24 for CST Make-up Testing.  Please come to Textbook Room during these times for any library/textbook assistance.

 

CSF will be hosting a Prep Book Marketplace on Wednesday, May 22, in the Pavilion at lunch! Come by with your used AP and SAT prep books to sell and receive 100% of the profits, or purchase used prep books at reduced prices! All books will be sold at $5 each.  (Drehs)

 

Attention all CSF members! Interested in running for 2013-2014 CSF Board? A potential candidates meeting will take place in K5 during lunch on

 

SoCal ROC (formerly SCROC) has two coursed targeted for specific grades:  The exciting world of Engineering is for 9th & 10th graders only, meets on Wed. from 3:45-645. It is a great way to explore the many areas of engineering. Students earn 2.5 elective credits for this semester course.

Dental Assisting is available for 11th graders only, meets M-Th from 3:45 – 6:45 and 10 elective credits are awarded for this one semester course. Thinking of becoming a dentist, orthodontist, or dental hygienist, then this is the class for you.  A one-year class is available to seniors who completed this class to continue their study of Dental Assisting. Transportation is provided for free for both of these courses. Sign up in the Counseling Office to meet with our representative or call Pam Lawrence @ 310-224-4240 for more information.

THE ATTIC is accepting applications for the ATTIC Advisory committee. Apps are due by June 7 and are available at THE ATTIC.

Are you too young to work a summer job?  Join our Youth Volunteer Program.  Applications are available in the Activities Office, THE ATTIC, on line & the Katy Geissert Library.
