Counseling:
Summer School: TEF/SBEA Summer School Program is now accepting applications.  Classes will be offered on site at South & Torrance High as well as some courses being offered on-line. Visit www.TEFSBEA.org for more information, schedule, and how to save money by registering early. A limited number of scholarships are available for this summer program. Please meet with your counselor for the application procedures. Deadline to apply for scholarship is May 1, 2014. (Counseling)

* The Academic Letter and Honor Roll Reception is this Wednesday, April 23 at 6:30PM in the cafe. Please arrive at 6:15PMto check in. Check the list of recipients that is now posted outside the principal's office for your name and plan on attending the event.  You are invited to join us as we enjoy words of wisdom from our special guest speaker, Megan Duckett, award the PTA scholarships, and recognize student's achievements as they are awarded their Academic Letter with book or lamp patch and certificate, or honor roll certificate.  Help us celebrate the academic excellence at South High.

* Class of 2016: We need artists to design our next class comp poster. Please submit your design on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper to Room L-3 by Friday, April 25th.

It is finally here!! The 3rd annual Dancing With The Staff is tonight at 6:30 in the Cafeteria!! Come and cheer on your amazing teachers, as they battle it out on the dance floor. Tickets are available for $5 at the door.

* If you made a Grad Night deposit, the balance is due on Thursday, April 24th for the $165 price. Your balance can be turned in to the box in K1, mailed to the PO Box or at the Senior Parent Meeting. Make sure you include your name and ID # on the check made payable to South High Grad Night. There are also a limited number of tickets remaining that can be purchased for $190 if you have not reserved your spot. Don't miss this fun evening to celebrate your graduation with your friends!

Are you an underachiever?  A "C" average student wanting to break out of mediocrity? Well then, South High's award winning academic decathlon team wants you. Though all levels are welcomed, we especially need motivated C average students to round out our team. Applications are still available in V-22 or on the front office display case. For those of you that have already picked one up, the deadline has been extended to Tuesday, EARTH DAY, since next year's theme is about innovations in energy and its sustainability.

DEBT LIST:  Debt list will be posted outside the Library, F-1, and K-1 on Monday, April 28th.  You must be cleared of all debts before you can purchase Prom tickets, pick up cap and gown, yearbook and purchase a yearbook at the end of the school year.

SENIOR ACTIVITY PARENT NIGHT: Will take place in the café on Thursday, April 24th at 7pm. Very important information will be discussed concerning all the senior activities and end-of-year programs that will be coming up. All senior parents are invited to attend!

LIBRARY CONTEST:  The Library will be having a contest (April 14-25); winners will receive a Target or Best Buy gift card.  Please come to the Library for details.

Clubs:  
* Attention all Apollo/Athena members: there is a mandatory meeting this Friday, April 25th. We will be introducing policy changes and plans for next year, as well as discussing upcoming events.

* Drama club - Meeting Today!! come to L-23 during Lunch.

Congratulations to the Math Club members who participated in the Bay Math League.  We came in 4th overall with Eric Xu getting the highest honor with a perfect score for the whole year.  Kudos to Edward Xu for getting 2nd place in his age bracket.
Thank you to all who helped us out with our Math Competition here at South High.

Support Habitat for Humanity by eating at Mexican Riviera on April 22nd and April 29th.  Please pick up a flyer from Y-22 or at Bluegrass.  You must present the flyer with your meal.
